Diary 201211 | Christmas and New Year
Warmenhoven & Venderbos will celebrate Christmas and New Year again by supporting a cause that is dear to them.
The Warmenhoven & Venderbos budget, which has been reserved for Christmas gifts has this year been donated to The Netherlands Brain Foundation (Hersenstichting Nederland). Our brain makes us who we are and determines how we function. Out of first hand experience the designers know how devastating the effect of a brain disorder caused by for example a stroke can be for a person and his/her close relatives.
With the funds collected The Netherlands Brain Foundation wants to prevent brain disorders, heal them, and ensure that brain patients can lead as full a life as possible. This is important because one in four Dutch people will be affected by a brain disorder. Find more information on the The Netherlands Brain Foundation (Hersenstichting Nederland) website.

Tokujin Yoshioka | Snow
Tokujin Yoshioka is a Japanese designer and artist who has worked under Shiro Kuramata and Issey Miyake and established his ow studio, Tokujin Yoshioka Design in 2000.
He created the installation called The Snow as part of the exhibition Sensing Nature at the Tokyo Mori Art museum last year. This spatial design made from artificial materials gives the viewer the sensation of experiencing light, snow, storms and other phenomena. Tokujin Yoshioka explores the potential future of design and how it will incorporate natural principles, effects and by integrating natural science technologies. His installation is similar to looking at or walking through a snowstorm. It is an expanded version of the original ‘snow’ which was exhibited in 1997.
