“The Seven Seals” is a work by Chinese contemporary artist Tsang Kin-Wah. It is a fascinating ongoing series of seven  conceptual digital video art installations using texts and computer technology to show Tsang’s thoughts on various issues of the day. “The Seven Seals” draws its reference from various sources such as: existentialism, metaphysics and politics. With this work Tsang Kin-wah attempt to articulate the complex situation  of the world and the dilemmas that people are facing while approaching “the end of the world”.

Animated phrases and short sentences appear, move and float, sometimes, like a murmur and sometimes like an admonition that reveals the nature of human beings and the changes of our emotions. Without a clear beginning or end, each installation in the “The Seven Seals” creates different cycles of text on continuous loops that appear to repeat without end; echoing the concept of “eternal recurrence” whereby all the issues and dilemmas of daily existence are seen perpetually recurring for an infinite number of fleeting instances, even though we recognize and are aware of them for a longer time.

Pipilotti Rist: A la belle étoile

Warmenhoven & Venderbos designers fashion blog: Pipilotti Rist: A la belle etoile

“A la belle étoile” is a huge and impressive audio/visual projection installation by Swiss conceptual artist Pipilotti Rist. In contrast to many other conceptual artists, her colourful and musical works transmit a sense of happiness and simplicity.

“A la belle étoile” was screened in 2007 on the slight slope of the Piazza in front of the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Currently it is part of the exhibition titled: elles@centrepompidou, in which the selection of the “the Centre Pompidou’s collections is focused on female artists from the 20Th century to the present day.” The exhibition will run until February 2011.

The below video gives an impression of Pipilotti Rist’s “A la belle etoile”.

Light, Architectural Projection Mapping

In a live visual event during the Branchage Film festival, Seeper and Flat-e have digitally attack Mont Orgueil Castle.

Using cutting edge 3D Projection mapping techniques the Castle was showered in light. The projections of light are morphing over time as the entire architectural form of the castle distorts and morphs. Objects pour out the windows, the walls unravel.

The below video gives an impression of the performance titeled the Battle of Branchage .
